What is deep listening?

Deep listening is an intentional practice where the listener remains fully present, allowing the speaker to feel seen and understood in a safe, judgment-free space. By quieting the natural urge to respond or advise, the listener maintains a relaxed, peaceful state that promotes open communication. This non-reactive presence fosters a bond of trust, enabling the speaker to express themselves authentically, without the need to self-censor or shape their words to please. Deep listening offers a rare space where the act of listening itself is the gift.

What to Expect During a Listening Session

Each session is an opportunity for you to speak freely about anything on your mind. Whether you want to share a story, express thoughts and emotions, or simply discuss something that’s been occupying your thoughts, I will listen fully, without judgment, interruption, or advice. There’s no commentary, no opinions—just focused, compassionate listening. It’s a simple but powerful experience that many find deeply refreshing.

How Does a Session Work?

Sessions are held live via video call on Zoom. While my camera remains on to provide a reassuring, attentive presence, you’re welcome to keep yours on or off—whatever feels most comfortable to you.

At the beginning of our session, I’ll take a moment to greet you and answer any questions you may have. Then, when you’re ready, I’ll invite you to start speaking. You are free to pause, reflect, or collect your thoughts without any pressure; the session flows at your pace, and I am fully comfortable with silence. Our time together is yours to use as you wish, with as many words—or as few—as you need.

As we near the end of our time, I will let you know. When our session has concluded I will offer my thanks before logging off.
